Frequently Asked Questions

WHAT IF I CAN'T ATTEND EVERY SESSION?

Part of the value and impact in the program are the relationships that are built among the participants and coaches. If a coach is inconsistent in their attendance, it disrupts the team. If you have any hesitation in your availability for the weekly commitment, please consider volunteering with GOTR in a different capacity.

WHEN AND WHERE IS COACH TRAINING?

Training information is provided after you submit an application. The in-person training must be attended in its entirety.  If you need to arrive late and/or leave early you will need to participate in coach training on another offered date and time. Coaches who do not complete the entire training will not be accepted to coach a team.

CAN I CHOOSE THE SITE WHERE I COACH?

Coaches may indicate a preference for the site at which they would like to coach. If coaches do not have a preference, we will assign them to a location in need of volunteers.

WILL I BE REIMBURSED FOR COACHING EXPENSES?

Each team receives a site allowance. Coaches must submit all receipts related to program expenses at the end of the season and will be reimbursed for an amount not to exceed the site allowance.
